Memorial Day Celebration

A Special Holiday ... " America the Beautiful " from my Americana Posters Gallery Dear Friends Old and New, In light of recent tragedies, our Country doesn't feel too beautiful, these days , does it.  And yet, the ideals defined by our forefathers call us to recommit to the building of ' a more perfect union ' so that all may prosper.  So I will offer America the Beautiful as a print to consider on the occasion of Memorial Day, 2022, itself a remembrance of all those who have given the last full measure of devotion in the defense of this Country . Posters from this gallery have been popular since the early days of their creation just after the horrors of 9.11.01 when I designed the series as a means of galvanizing our National Spirit in the direction of a recovery from the tragedy. Needless to say, these posters make outstanding gifts on many occasions over the course of a year, most especially on Memorial Day .    Biblical Prints:   John 13:34 :  Here after E

Mid-May Art Print Considerations

Spring in Providence ... pixilated -style!  " Providence Skyline " limited-edition series, also original Dear Friends Old and New, Our local birds are loud, these days... and a beautiful sound, it is. Cardinals win the award, but Chickadees, Finches and Titmice all chiming-in. I found one abandoned nest in our watering bucket, contains  4-5 beautiful, speckled eggs. Winds blew the bucket over one day last week, and now momma is without her nest, eggs...or baby chicks. Nature is tough, isn't it.   Pictured above is an image of the new Providence Skyline , such as it was long-referred to. My style is one that began to formulate years ago as the notorious pixel was coming into fashion. In this image, the skyline, painted in acrylic on canvas, is presented as-if pixilated, a salute to the idea of images being 'constructed,' and then 'destructed,' one pixel at a time.  Biblical Prints:   John 13:34 : Here after Easter, if you still consider a print about the C

May Weed Management Under Way

She's interested! Am so glad I've paid her a visit ... " Spring Cow in New Grass " from my photo prints gallery  Dear Friends Old and New, Well, my wood stove has been cranking all week. Rain, wind, cold, damp, we've seen a variety over seven to ten days. At night, the house is warm, furnace is off. I like this idea and always have, a whole lot. Take heart, eighty degrees by Thursday, we're told! But I have not let this streak of testy-weather get to me, have been outside weeding, raking, composting when I can between wet-spells, once some sun shines and winds begin to blow. Progress, no matter what!  But there is still much to do. This morning, I hauled my harrower out of the barn, an old-fashioned but reliable tool. Will have to run it through a couple of gardens this week, turn over the soil, prepare for seeding...a wonderful time of year. I can tell you, the young cow above is just as happy as I at the prospect of comfortable spring weather. I took thi

Beauty of May Rolls In...

Chicken art, but one example ...     " My Golden Fluff Ball ," from Americana Posters Gallery Dear Friends Old and New, Isn't May a most beautiful month?  Down here, I am making progress in cleaning up this property for the summer season. Still much to do, don't get me wrong, but much has been done. This time of year, bees are frantic and delirious in what is unfolding, daily. Hens & roosters are in their mating mode, new chicks coming along, such as we witnessed, for years. Pictured above, painted in acrylic on a wooden shingle, is a beauty, " My Golden Fluff Ball ," as she impressed me at the time. I am hoping you may find it worthy of considering when you think about a new Spring art print. You can see the series here in my Paint Prints Gallery .  John 13:34 : If you're still in the Easter spirit, h ere is the core of Christianity in one typographic plate, a style that is unique, one I developed to help express  Old and New Testament verses  in
