Let's Honor Memorial Day...Together

My hope is that here in a polarized Nation we might put aside our differences, often trivial when seen in this context, and think seriously about those Americans who have died so that we can do whatever we choose to do over this long holiday weekend. These are the truest of Americans, are they not? No amount of dedicated thought or rumination on my part can possibly begin to acknowledge in gratitude what has gone on since the Nation's founding-- in all our wars and conflicts. Further, I know only 1% of us sign up to defend this Nation, now. I know recruitments are short, up to 50% short, if what I've read is half way accurate. I

I guess this marks the arrival of Spring, apart from the Calendar and Daffodils! And the grass begging for seed and fertilizer...and the garden pleading for a hoe. Above is an image of a quick painting completed on a small masonite board using acrylic ink. I intended it to be as freewheeling in attitude as I could make it, in line with my experience of the Rhode Island coast. Here it is .
