Holiday shop ...time to just get done ?    " Gray Ocean Drive, Newport, RI " perfect for many of these fall days Dear Friends Old and New, The pace of life since Thanksgiving has been slow, relaxed, thankfully-- but is rapidly picking up that unmistakable holiday momentum. We draw up lists. We think about people we wish to contact at year-end, we plan with family to get together. The Pandemic is always on our mind. Our wood stove is fired up every day. Our cat likes to snooze in a chair by the stove for long, warm, comfortable hours at a time. Packages come and go from the porch. The kitchen smells good most nights. It is a nice time of year .     Prints as gifts: Consider very unusual gifts...Beach Posters...as a screen-printed gifts, this year.   See them, in my  Beach Poster Gallery :  New Jersey ,  Long Island ,  Florida ,  Chesapeake Bay , and  California . A Print for Thanksgiving Week 2021

Some Nice Fall Images... Here !  " Dorset, Vermont in Fall , " one of several popular last week Dear Friends Old and New, In the wink of an eye, Thanksgiving 2021 is here. The image I am offering this week was taken on a jaunt through Dorset, Vermont one weekend while visiting friends. What a charming little hamlet Dorset is. In my opinion, the image avoids cliche while capturing something of the simplicity inherent to the very idea of Thanksgiving. Don't let anyone trash the idea of Thanksgiving-- a day that seems a gift to this society, especially in trying times such as we have known in recent years. Daylight Savings Time we lost over this past week, seems late this year. I find these days of shortened light hard, when the sun goes down by 4:30 or thereabouts. "Where did summer go?" comes around as a sub-theme every year about this time. The animals are tuned in. Mice and squirrels work overtime. Snakes bury themselves. Spiders succumb. Coyotes howl down a

Mid-November, Arrival of HolyDay Season

Last week, we honored our Veterans !  " Battle Hymn of the Republic " one of several popular last week Dear Friends Old and New, Last week, while my Operating System became officially obsolete and the practicalities of every day Internet use fell into a black hole, I made an effort to honor o ur Veterans . For the most part, using other devices, this was workable. Am so glad to be back on-line and in a normal mode and humor, today! Thank you for your patience.     Cold weather, in the meantime, has arrived here in Southern New England. Frost has claimed our gardens. I have a lot of work to do to prepare for next spring. One honey-bee hive here, once a rollicking, wonderful, productive hive, perished over this past week. I have to go into the hive to make sense of what happened. Prepping for winter is a busy time of year, is it not?  And now, the HolyDay Season has arrived! So! Have you begun your shopping yet ? If so,  you may wish to examine my  Beach Poster Gallery :  Ne

After yesterday's elections , perhaps you consider ...!    " America the Beautiful " reflects on the election of yesterday Dear Friends Old and New, What a post-election day in the USA. Lots to reflect upon, to consider, to value. Here is my suggestion! This poster uses the flag that hung in front of my home on 9.11.01-- over which I have added the words to " America the Beautiful ," one of my favorite American hymns.     Tomorrow night, cold weather arrives.  My honey- bees are quiet today. They are inside their hives, as though they understand exactly where we are in the cycle of the seasons-- which I believe they do!  In advance of the holiday season, have you begun your shopping yet? If so,  you may wish to examine my  Beach Poster Gallery :  New Jersey ,  Long Island ,  Florida ,  Chesapeake Bay , and  California . These screen-printed images make great gifts. Each poster includes actual sand gathered by yours truly from the beaches of that particular loca
