Some Nice Fall Images... Here ! " Dorset, Vermont in Fall , " one of several popular last week Dear Friends Old and New, In the wink of an eye, Thanksgiving 2021 is here. The image I am offering this week was taken on a jaunt through Dorset, Vermont one weekend while visiting friends. What a charming little hamlet Dorset is. In my opinion, the image avoids cliche while capturing something of the simplicity inherent to the very idea of Thanksgiving. Don't let anyone trash the idea of Thanksgiving-- a day that seems a gift to this society, especially in trying times such as we have known in recent years. Daylight Savings Time we lost over this past week, seems late this year. I find these days of shortened light hard, when the sun goes down by 4:30 or thereabouts. "Where did summer go?" comes around as a sub-theme every year about this time. The animals are tuned in. Mice and squirrels work overtime. Snakes bury themselves. Spiders succumb.
