Sum Sum Sum Sum Sum Sum Summertime!

Image
Been to the beach , yet? " Horseneck Beach #1 ", prints available Dear Friends Old and New, Beaches are busy . Gardens are busy. People are busy. Even movie-theaters are busy! A glorious time of year around here-- we are near the ocean, so we're cooler than millions of Americans who are roasting by all accounts. Humidity and rain of recent weeks seems to be subsiding. We're drying off. Honeybees, I hope, are recovering. Garden mold and rot will fail to catch on, we all hope. I prefer the early mornings and latter part of the day, as many do, a good time to cut grass and tend to summer chores like trimming, weeding, raking, building up our compost pile. I hope that as we look out toward the next election a little more than a year away, we can all find some lazy summer days to thoroughly enjoy. We like salads in summer-- what's not to like? This time of year fresh tomatoes come into season, corn in salads is a big plus around here. Fresh lettuce, radishes, s...

In Trying and Testy Times, Perhaps a New Art Print ?  " Bannister's Wharf ," Art Print, from my Paint Prints Gallery Dear Friends Old and New, In this image, one can recall the season just now appearing in our rear-view mirror, summer, left behind. The image, " Bannister's Wharf ,"  I painted in acrylic on a masonite board some years ago. Prints are available from this original image. In it, one gets the sense of summer-gone-by, even as the colors of fall show up. The painting was very much spontaneous, and fun to create. I could do a whole series of such images from this point on the Newport, Rhode Island harbor.  Biblical Prints:   John 13:34 :  At a time when "Religion" continues to be trashed by the predictably data-driven, secular Left, I find these prints even more inspiring. Fortunately, others do, too! I can tell you, to see them hanging in offices and rooms of friends is a special treat. Why, a few weeks ago an old friend  purchased one...

June 24, Wildflower Time?

Sun, Weed , Cut, Mulch...  Grow !   "Second Year Wildflower Garden"...and it's wild!   Dear Friends Old and New, The image above is not available as a print...but I ought to make it so!    I let my garden of last summer winter over, and voila! Here, early in the growing season 2022, this is what is unfolding, a wild scene, a chrome-yellow display of hundreds, thousands of buds and blossoms, delirious! Very hard to believe, have never seen anything like this. At one pm the other day, there were too many bees, butterflies and assorted other flying creatures to recognize and count! Thanks to Johnnny's Seeds for the packages received in the Spring of '01 that made this possible. One customized package was for honey-bees, the other for butterflies and birds. I have no idea what this garden will yield over the course of the entire summer, but here is the opening act, and a beautiful one, it is.  Biblical Prints:   John 13:34 :  At a time when "Rel...

Happy New Year 2022!

A New Year is Upon Us...a Time of Grace?   " Amazing Grace " from Americana Posters Gallery Dear Friends Old and New, The season of Epiphany , now? Yes it is! In a year in which we will participate in our national elections, mid-term, life promises to be raucous, does it not? How does one celebrate Epiphany? Is it "nothing?" Is it "something?" Or, "Something?" Does it mark a profound change in human history? How do you think about it? Typically, I confess-- I have never much thought about it. But these days, I find I do.  "The 'Good Almost Anytime' print--prints as gifts:   Consider very unusual gifts...Beach Posters...as a screen-printed gifts, this year.   See them, in my  Beach Poster Gallery :  New Jersey ,  Long Island ,  Florida ,  Chesapeake Bay , and  California .
