Dear Friends Old and New,
We do not forget, we remember. Most of us recall where we were the moment the tragedy of 9.11.01 began to unfold. Most of us remember the criminals. We remember the intent. We remember the motive. We remember the hate, the horror, the manifestly evil act of war against our Nation, our people, our ideals, our history, everything our country stands for-- enemies of America attacked in a coordinated, calculated, rehearsed fashion. We live still with images indelibly implanted in our memories. As 9.11.01 comes around one more time, let us take time to reflect upon this event. Let it call us into action in some manner of our own choosing, by which our children and grandchildren may benefit. There is still time. Each of us can make a difference. Now, as then, is the time.

Summer winds down now. At the beaches, lifeguards are gone, no doubt back to their normal lives, leaving us to swim in the ocean at our own discretion and care. Our gardens have peaked. Through this drought of many weeks, honey-bees have worked overtime to make the best of it. Despite often hideous local, national or international news, may we continue to find ways relish the special beauty to be lived out at this time of year; honey is harvested, crops arrive, many of us prepare our woodpiles for cold months, life is good. And if you're in this part of the country, keep up your prayers for rain. Even after recent down-pours, bees, birds, farmers, we all need it!
