Dear Friends Old and New,
Aren't we headed toward...peak season? Perhaps not as far as corn, tomatoes and potatoes are concerned-- but certainly true about Strawberries, Honeysuckle and early season Wildflowers! As one who has spent hours in the yard, in the compost heap and in the garden, I can attest, the season has come alive in recent weeks. My wildflower garden, planted last season, last year, has wintered over and is alive with new bulbs and blossoms in this new summer growing cycle. Just a beautiful thing to behold. Here is to adequate summer rain, lush growth and a bountiful late-summer, early fall.

In the blue bird-house at the east end of my garde, a momma Wren sits proudly atop the roof looking this way and that before flitting off in search of food for her loudly cheeping babies, inside. This is a most delightful sight. Soon, her baby birds will be out of the nest, practicing their flying amidst trees and brush that surround this garden. I admit, I have a soft spot for momma birds and their young, this time of year, a truly joyful sight.
