Dear Friends Old and New,
Leftists across the country are doing their nihilism thing with great outrage and umbrage, trashing the country...so what else is new. As one TV commentator remarked, "They are so ANGRY! I haven't seen leftists so ANGRY...since...yesterday! And of course, the point is made.The sights of this playing out across the land are discouraging, disgraceful and disheartening. From my point of view, many of these trash-mongers don't know US history, don't value the ideals, the documents, the Founding Fathers or the underlying structure of our own Government and how it is designed (so ingeniously) to function. Yes, we face serious problems, yes, there are long-standing matters to attend to, yes, the Country has NOT been tuned up very well for this 21st Century. We all know this. But our country is being dragged down in large measure by a privileged class of political elites who are well-paid, well educated and well employed yet, over the past 40-plus years or so, take no accountability either for their actions or failures to act, any who have little to no vision or new ideas about much of anything except that which will strengthen their own dubious and questionable power. So instead, I will choose to honor our Country, its founders, its ideals, its promise, and its accomplishments with all I can muster. Happy July 4, everyone, and may the spirit of our founders be with us in the months ahead.
