A Deer comes around here every day, a young doe. Her parents were shot last fall, both mother and father. Then, back in January or February she apparently broke her leg. How she survived by herself in the woods these past couple of winter months, I do not know. Every day I leave her two apples on the back stoop. She comes just after the sun goes down and gently chews them down. Here on April 1, her food supply is much better, now. I note when she runs, she still lifts her injured right leg, entirely. She gets along. Her white-tail bobs back and forth in a characteristic fashion. She has no siblings. I am glad she seems to find shelter near this house. She is larger, now, growing. Dangers are everywhere. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, dogs, Coyotes. This is "Coyote" time of year. We are with this little doe every day.
