Sum Sum Sum Sum Sum Sum Summertime!

Been to the beach , yet? " Horseneck Beach #1 ", prints available Dear Friends Old and New, Beaches are busy . Gardens are busy. People are busy. Even movie-theaters are busy! A glorious time of year around here-- we are near the ocean, so we're cooler than millions of Americans who are roasting by all accounts. Humidity and rain of recent weeks seems to be subsiding. We're drying off. Honeybees, I hope, are recovering. Garden mold and rot will fail to catch on, we all hope. I prefer the early mornings and latter part of the day, as many do, a good time to cut grass and tend to summer chores like trimming, weeding, raking, building up our compost pile. I hope that as we look out toward the next election a little more than a year away, we can all find some lazy summer days to thoroughly enjoy. We like salads in summer-- what's not to like? The season flies, this time of year. Flowers bloom, daily; new grass seed takes root and is coming up with zest. My two bags of Wildflower seeds are exhausted, empty--I've planted all of them around this property in an effort to draw Hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Will be fun to watch them grow, see what actually transpires over the next several months. But hasn't the world taken on a strange and daunting quality? War is in the air on numerous fronts. People seem laconic about it. Money is rumored to be replaced by digital currencies controlled by the Government. Let's Honor Memorial Day...Together

Memorial Day 2023 " Battle Hymn of the Republic Poster " One in series of seven original Who We Are Americana Posters Dear Friends Old and New, Memorial Day is upon us-- and unlike Veterans' Day when we honor all who have served, on Memorial Day we honor those who have laid down their lives for their Country, the ultimate sacrifice. My hope is that here in a polarized Nation we might put aside our differences, often trivial when seen in this context, and think seriously about those Americans who have died so that we can do whatever we choose to do over this long holiday weekend. These are the truest of Americans, are they not? No amount of dedicated thought or rumination on my part can possibly begin to acknowledge in gratitude what has gone on since the Nation's founding-- in all our wars and conflicts. Further, I know only 1% of us sign up to defend this Nation, now. I know recruitments are short, up to 50% short, if what I've read is half way accurate. I
